Are shots required before
their stay at Tarheel?
Yes, Tarheel requires paperwork that verifies your pet
has had their rabies, distemper, and bordetella
vaccinations. Bring this in when you and your pet
attend a Meet and Greet session.
What if my pet gets sick?
We will immediately try and contact your veterinarian in
the event your pet gets sick. If we are unable to do
so, your pet will be cared for by one of the local vets
Tarheel is in contact with, an we will contact you
promptly.
Is Tarheel open on
holidays?:
The kennels are open every day except for major
holidays. Don't think that means we're not caring for
your pets at this time though, this just means we are
closed to the public!
How much does it cost to
groom my dog?
Prices vary with the size of your dog, and the coat
condition. You can bring your dog for an estimate, or
ask us during your Meet and Greet.
What is a meet and greet?
Our Meet and Greet sessions are a 20 minute visit for
your pet. This visit helps ease your pet into their
surroundings, making the more comfortable when they
board. We also discuss with you any special needs your
pet may require upon staying with us.
Do you care for other
animals?
Yes, our services (see also Tarheel Too!) are offered to
all types of animals, but the kennel itself tends to
dogs, cats, and occasionally rabbits. You may also
inquire about your animal staying in one of our homes.
